At every conference it holds, Commonwealth prepares supplies and equipment for a giveback project in the community where the conference is held. Our broker-dealer is committed to helping those in need and created Commonwealth Cares 501(c)(3) to provide contributions of time, talent, and financial support to a wide range of philanthropic efforts aimed at relieving human suffering, promoting social and economic growth, and sustaining and protecting our planet's resources. The purpose of this year’s project during the President’s Conference was to clear a vacant, overgrown lot, paint existing walls ,and build fencing prior to the construction of three affordable housing units.
Open House benefiting Youth On Their Own, April 21, 2017
We decided to spread our love beyond our clients at this year’s open house with a giveback to benefit Youth On Their Own. We shared wonderful food and spirits as we have over the lpst 11 years at our annual Valentine’s Open House. George and Dawn have been helping children in need through various philanthropic organizations for many years and knew their clients would want to help, too. We were overwhelmed with so many additions to our large stash of non-perishable food and personal hygiene items for this local organization. We often take it for granted that we have food to eat this weekend. Youth on Their Own helps homeless youth stay in school and succeed by providing financial assistance, basic human needs, and one-on-one guidance for students enrolled in Pima County in grades 6 through 12 without a stable home. YOTO has a mini-mall where students can shop once a week for 10 pounds of food and a personal hygiene item. The Monday after our open house, we delivered more than 50 bags of goods to YOTO.
